I spent a lot of time trying to find reviews for the Cassida C100, and almost didn’t buy it because I couldn’t find any (at the time I purchased it). I’m really glad I went ahead and bought it.
PROS:
C100 is great. Sturdy frame. Doesn’t jam. I tried foreign coins, and sticky/dirty grimy coins; No problems. Fills coin rolls well. Easy to use. Didn’t need to look at the manual to figure everything out. Ability to select different numbers for how many coins to stop at (for each coin independently) is nice. Has a rear access door to pull out foreign objects that don’t get sorted. Reliable.
CONS:
Can’t fill several coin rolls in a row. Need to pause, remove, & replace a roll every time one gets filled. Foreign coins are not rejected to the side, but rather sorted to the nearest US coin size that they will fit into. If you put foreign coins in, it will screw up your count, and you won’t know it if you put it into paper rolls. Price is a little high, but then again, it’s the cheapest jam-free coin sorter I could find.
OTHER THOUGHTS:
I was considering buying the Royal Sovereign FS-4DA, but I wasn’t sure due to the reported jamming problems, and it’s inabillity to sort foreign coins out to the side. The AccuBANKER AB410 (more expensive) seems like a high quality product, but it only sorts/counts money, and doesn’t fill coin rolls. I’m glad I went with the Cassida C100.
The Cassida C100 is more expensive than the Royal Sovereign FS-4DA, but it is a high quality product that hasn’t jammed up. I purposely tried to jam it, but it won’t jam. At 8.6lb, it is about one pound heavier than the FS-4DA (7.5lb). I read several reviews saying the plastic body of the FS-4DA is cheap quality. I think the Cassida C100 has a good quality body. Feels solid enough.
I marked it off a star for the way it sorts foreign coins (it sorts them as US coins). Except for the foreign coin problem, I would say that this is reliable and suitable for a small business.
Side-Note:
I’m not sure if Cassida developed this product or purchases it and stamps their name on it. Other companies sell the same product, like Ribao. The Ribao CS-100 is looks exactly the same as the Canadian version, but you can sort custom coin sizes. I’m quite sure that Ribao buys it from Cassida, or the same company Cassida buys from, because Ribao sells other product made by JCM (Japanese Company). Ive seen other generic companies selling this as well, like ‘Exact Banker’ (C-100) on eBay. The Ribao can be found for a lot less money. I’m sure it’s all the same, but Cassida offers a 1 year warranty, and Ribao only gives 90 days. I probably would have bought the Ribao if I knew about it ahead of time.
